Uttarakhand, located at the foothills of the Himalayas, is characterized by diverse geographical features ranging from snow-capped mountain peaks in the North to tropical forests in the South. The state has different agro-climatic conditions, slopes and height. The state has a vast potential for cultivation of wide range of agriculture, horticulture and forestry crops.

Agricultural science is a broad multidisciplinary field of biology that encompasses the parts of exact, natural, economic and social sciences that are used in the practice and understanding of agriculture. They include the technologies of soil cultivation, crop cultivation and harvesting, animal production, and the processing of plant and animal products for human consumption and use.

Forestry is the science and craft of creating, managing, playing, using, conserving and repairing forests, woodlands, and associated resources for human and environmental benefits. Forestry is practiced in plantations and natural stands. The science of forestry has elements that belong to the biological, physical, social, political and managerial sciences. Modern forestry generally embraces a broad range of concerns, in what is known as multiple-use management systems.
School of Agriculture was established to promote Agriculture & Forestry based knowledge to students with imparting quality undergraduate teaching along with improvement in research and extension facilities for meeting demands of growing population for safe and nutritionally rich food under the changing climatic scenario. It provides wide assortment of B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Sc. Forestry programmes in its campus since 2016. The curricula of these programmes are designed as per 5TH Dean Committee ICAR recommendations. We handhold our students and facilitate their learning process all along their curriculum.
Our faculty team has diversified expertise covering all areas of Agriculture & Forestry, and they are incredibly proficient educationalists, prolific mentors and dexterous intellectuals. The face-to-face interaction between students and faculty in the form of advisement creates a strong bond between students and faculty which results in guidance leading to capacity building of the students during their degree programme. The prime objective is to develop budding technocrats possessing multidimensional personality who will be well versatile in various fields apart from technical education bridge gap between classroom studies and practical’s. School of Agriculture has active interaction with Agriculture & Forestry based industries with domain specific, state of the art laboratories for Agriculture & Forestry.
Special emphasis is given on responsibilities of human principles along with newest advancement taking place in field of Agriculture and Forestry. Social programmes are also organized in the campus such as environmental awareness, health and hygiene awareness, literacy awareness etc. through N.S.S. / NCC programmes. College also offers opportunities to nurture expertise in leadership, team work, technical skills, management skills etc by organizing Trainings, Workshops, Seminars, and Industrial and Educational tours at reputed centers for gaining knowledge from time-to-time.
